Aside from the sometimes out-of-place noise, the mess they leave and the bacteria they bring, dogs have smelly urine.

Dealing with carpets, floors, dog beddings that are full of dog pee is really very disgusting. What’s worse is that, even after you have tried to wash away the dog pee stain and scent; it is very likely to stay smelling bad. Washing with water is not enough to remove the dog pee smell. You have to do some special cleaning tricks in order to get rid of the dog pee scent completely. So if you do not know what else to do to get rid of dog smell, here are some tips for you.

Mop right away

If your dog peed on the floor, then you can just mop it right away. Remember, speedy removal is required so that the scent will not stick to the floor. Once you have seen the dog urine, get a paper towel or rag and let it absorb the urine. Then, mop the floor with wet rag.

White vinegar

When it comes to powerful odor that you want to get rid of, you can choose between white vinegar and baking soda. These two are the top odor removers. If your carpet has been stained, or any fabric at that, you can just soak the area that has urine with white vinegar. Let the vinegar seep up through the fibers and wash it clean with water afterwards.

Baking soda

As mentioned, baking soda is another effective pee smell remover. Simply sprinkle lots of baking soda over the area with the dog pee. The baking soda will absorb the smell and kill bacteria that are making the odor worse. After letting the baking soda sit on the area for a few hours, vacuum off the baking powder. Then, scrub the area with water and let dry.

Rubbing alcohol

Rubbing alcohol is also strong enough to remove the unwanted smell from dog urine. Just squirt an ample amount of rubbing alcohol on the area or fabric where your dog had peed. Let the rubbing alcohol dissipate and then rinse the area clean. If it did not go away for the first time, just repeat the process until the scent has gone away.
