The best thing for you to do is to store as much oxygen as possible. An effective breathing exercise is called Anulom Vilom Pranayam. All you have to do is to press you thumb to your right nostril and breath through your left nostril. Exhale through your right nostril while pressing down the other nostril. Repeat this sequence for a good 20 minutes. If you don’t have time for that, just simply have deep breathing exercises as often as possible. Breathe in and hold that for 5 seconds the exhale with a pursed lip. That will help you heart pump more blood and eventually give off oxygen to your brain.

Relax and get enough sleep

With all the types of headache, rest is the key to almost every single one of them. Headaches are manifestations of being stressed out. So every once in a while, find you peace and relax for about 5 minutes. That would give your brain time to function well with enough oxygen. Also, try to get at least 6 to 7 hours of sleep daily. Sleep helps your body systems to recuperate and be ready for the next day’s activities.

Have your eyes checked

Sometimes, headaches and migraines are a result of strained eyes. Visit your ophthalmologist and see if you are a candidate for eyeglasses.

Visit your physician

As indicated above, treating ice pick headaches may seem very tricky. However, your physician may prescribe Indomethacin or Indocin as preventive measures. Also, it is best to keep a diary and write down all the times that you have had the headaches. The frequency and duration may help the physician diagnose your condition better.
