Remove the mixture from the heat, position yourself a few inches away from the container and start to inhale deeply the steam. The steam coming from the mixture will help unclog your nasal passages and relieve the swelling.
Aside from tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil is also an effective home remedy for treating nasal swelling. The eucalyptus oil can help alleviate the infection, making your condition better. Just pour 8 ounces of water in a pot and bring it to a boil. Add about 4 drops of eucalyptus oil over the water. When the mixture has boiled, turn off the heat and lean your head above the pot. Breathe in the vapor that comes from the mixture until there is no more left.
Neti pot and salt and water solution
Salt and water solution is another easy homemade treatment for clogged and swelling nasal passages. If you have a neti pot, simply pour a mixture of lukewarm water and a teaspoon of table salt inside it. Then, tilt you head to one side and gently start to pour the mixture in one of your nostrils. The salt and water solution that passed through your nasal passage will then come out on your other nostril. Repeat this again with the other nostril. You might need to do this twice a day for a few days. Remember to be extra careful when you are using the neti pot device.
