How to Get Rid of Back Pain

Pain is the way of our body to tell us that something is not right.  It signals us that there is a need for us to be more cautious in doing the things that we do.  Pain, at any intensity must not be taken for granted, especially if it is located in areas that we cannot see.  Backache is not something different.  It is caused by a couple of factors that range from postural habits to spinal injuries.

You must exercise

Doing specific activities to strengthen your back is very helpful.  As you back muscles increases its strength, it becomes less susceptible to injury and pain.  Brisk walking, jogging and aerobics are highly recommended for this type of problem.  Specific back exercise like back hyperextensions and seated row exercise is the best to address the pain.

Use pain relievers

Since pain is felt, the immediate goal of care is basically its disappearance.  Pain management is done by giving you the right pain medication.  For this type of pain, the best pill whom you should use is the one that belongs to the NSAIDS (Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug) group, which include the ibuprofen, mefenamic acid and paracetamol.  These drugs are generally safe to use and are very effective in reducing pain from the muscles and other soft tissues.  However, using it for long term use is not advisable because it may cause gastrointestinal ulceration and bleeding in the long run.

Consider a new mattress

If you’re finding that your back pain is severe in the morning, it may be time to meet with a sleep specialist.  You may find that the mattress you have at home isn’t doing you justice during your sleep at night.  Not only will you not get a full nights rest, you’re going to feel stiff in the morning.  One of the best mattresses to look into is a firm mattress to correct your posture over time.
