How To Get Rid Of Biting Flies
Flies are very annoying creatures. These insects can be found almost anywhere, especially in dirty, damp places. Flies are known to bring many bacteria and germs. This reason alone should be enough for you to know that a swarm of in a home is a major no-no. But aside from the normal flies that carry diseases, some of them even bite! Yes, there are also biting flies around. So if the normal tiny houseflies are a big nuisance already, it is right to say that these biting flies are double the trouble. If you notice biting flies around your home, you should get rid of them as soon as possible.
Biting flies are much like mosquitoes. They will fly around, creating loud noises, and then when they land at your skin, they will bite and suck your blood, at the same time, leave you with germs and bacteria that can cause infection. However, a biting fly’s bite mark can be far worse than a mosquito bite. If you have been bitten by a biting fly, you will encounter a painful, swollen, red bite mark that will pitch for days. So if you do not want your family to get bitten by biting flies, you should remove them from your house as soon as you seen them. Here are some things you can do to get rid of biting flies.
Catch them all
White biting flies are seen roaming around almost everywhere, there is an area where you can find most of them swarming. What you can do is pinpoint their lair. Simply go around your house and yard and check where the biting flies are coming from. Do not forget holes, cracks and crevices in your home because these are the most common spots where the biting flies stay at. Once you locate their lair, you can now catch them all using a vacuum. Simply use a vacuum to suck up all those biting flies. Seal the vacuum bag and then go to a place away from your home and any other residence to release these biting flies.
Smoke can scare a lot of types of common insects. If the biting flies are outside in your yard, you can just simply burn some wood near their swarming area to make sure that the smoke reaches the flies. When the biting flies become aware of the smoke, there is a high chance that they will fly away from your home. If the flies are inside your house, there are those machines you can borrow or rent at the hardware store which produce smoke. You can use it instead of starting a fire in your home, which is quite absurd.
It is quite impractical to use a fly swatter to kill biting flies one by one. Unless there is indeed only one biting fly around. If you want to get rid of biting flies all at once, you can spray insecticide to kill them. While this might not be a very eco-friendly method, it will greatly help in reducing the number of biting flies in your area. Simply buy an insecticide from the local store and follow the proper usage of the insecticide.
Call pest control
If the biting flies keep on swarming to your lot and you cannot get rid of them by yourself, calling the pest control is one of the best options for you.
