How To Get Rid of Blemishes
Blemishes are common skin imperfections that almost everyone has come across. It is usually experienced by young teens that are undergoing adolescence, adults and pregnant women who are all very prone to fluctuating hormones. Blemishes are characterized by red spots on face that usually have a white center, where the blemish head is found. It is painful at times and once it popped, can leave unwanted permanent blemish mark on your face.
When you get blemishes, it is important to take care of these in order to stop a blemish breakout. Luckily, there are many things you can do to get rid of blemishes. Here are some things that you can try.
Keep your face clean
Whether you have blemishes or not, you must always keep your face clean. The very reason why blemishes and other skin imperfections appear is because of dirt on your skin. Once the dirt has clogged your pores, it will have an adverse reaction that will lead to formations of black heads, white heads and blemishes. As soon as you discover the blemishes, you should start by washing your face with warm water and antibacterial facial soap. Then, you should also clean up everything that will come in contact with your face for a long time like your pillow and blanket, mobile phones, your hair and even your very hands. Use a sanitizer first before touching your face to avoid infection.
Ice can make your blemishes sink in size. It will give that cooling effect that will shrink your pores, and thus, make your blemishes appear less visible. Simply get an ice cube and rub it on your blemishes for a couple of minutes. You can repeat this a few times a day to speed up the treatment of your blemishes.
Apply raw honey
Raw honey is known to help get rid of blemishes, wounds and scars. It has natural antibacterial properties that can kill those germs that may be causing your pimple. Before you apply raw honey to your blemishes, make sure that you are really using raw honey or at least, pure honey. There are many types of honey in the market but some contain more artificial sugar than real honey. Once you have picked out raw honey, simply wash your face and apply the honey directly to the blemishes. Apply an ample amount so it will not dry easily. After half an hour, rinse the raw honey. You can repeat this daily.
Rub lemon or calamine
Lemon and calamine are both rich in Vitamin C and their acidity helps kill bacteria, at the same time; they absorb oil in your face. Simply rub a lemon wedge or calamine to the blemish in your face. Let it dry for about a minute or two and then rinse. Other Vitamin C fruits like orange and lime will also work.
Make sandalwood treatment
Sandalwood is also a good remover for blemishes. It can soothe many types of different skin lesions. It also helps in cleansing your face and keeping it free of germs. Simply mix some sandalwood paste and water. Apply this to your face and then gently massage it for a couple of minutes. Then, wash your face. Repeat this treatment daily.
Consult a dermatologist
If your blemishes just keeps on sprouting everywhere and your face seems to be covered by these unwanted zits, then it is a good idea to consult a dermatologist. Most blemishes are just due to bacteria-clogged pores but some cases may be caused by more serious infections.
