Wash your clothes with antibacterial detergent
When your clothes have acquired that fish smell, you should wash it with antibacterial detergent and hot water. Sometimes, the fish smell is accompanied by germs so you must watch out for those bacteria that may have stuck to your clothing fabrics. First, soak your clothes into hot water, but not too hot that it may damage your clothes. Then, launder normally with antibacterial detergent. Hang outside to dry and bleach under the sun.
Wash with warm water and soap
If the smell has already stuck to your skin, then you can just wash with warm water and soap as well. You can also rub some alcohol to your hands afterwards for more sanitizing effect.
Rub some lemon and vinegar
Lemon and vinegar can be used to get rid of the fish smell. You can use them when laundering clothes that have the fish smell, when you are washing off the smell from your hands or you can add them as ingredients to your food when you are cooking fish. A few minutes before you cook the fish, you can soak them in iced water with wedges of lemon. This will not just make your meal more flavorful, it will also get rid of the unpleasant fish smell.
Have an open box of baking soda
Baking soda is also known as one of the most powerful odor absorbents. When you are cooking fish, you can just open a box of baking soda and place it in the counter while you cook. This will absorb the fish smell.
You can also use baking soda to remove fish smell from your clothes. Just sprinkle some baking soda on your clothes and let it sit for a few minutes before you wash the clothes.
Spray some air deodorizer
If the fish smell is too strong and it has spread around your home, one thing you can do is spray some air deodorizer. There are air deodorizers that sold commercially. You can just spray it around so that the air will be purified and left that fragrant smell.
If you do not want to use deodorizers, you can simply soak a cloth in vinegar and wave it around the room for an instant air purifying effect.
