How to Get Rid of Frogs
There are several animals that can live in your yard and that can be a good or bad thing. Most wild animals that get stranded in your yard is guaranteed to raise hell since it is a new environment for them and they would much rather turn it into something familiar to their habitat. There are some that can give benefits like eating those animals that are causing all sorts of trouble in your property. But there are some that gets stuck in the middle. Those that doesn’t pose any danger but at the same time can become nuisance overtime.
Frogs can be considered as one of these animals. Frogs can feed on insects that can harm you and your property and this is a good thing. The bad thing is that frogs can sometimes overpopulate the area that it becomes an ugly sight. Not to mention the noise that they make at night this can give you a hard time sleeping.
For what it’s worth, frogs are still beneficial animals and it would still be cruel to kill them off if you try to get rid of them. This is one of the most common dilemma when dealing with frog, but if you have to get rid of them, you should do whatever you can. To lessen your burden, here are some of the things that you can do to get rid of frogs:
Take away their food source
You see, most animals are attracted to your property because of the opportunities it presents them. For example, if you have food lying around your yard and you left it there for a period of time, it can rot. Once it rots, it will attract different kinds of insects; and when that happens, expect to see predators of these insects which include frogs.
So when you see insects, there are chances that you see predators come hopping after them. This is the reason why you need to dispose of food items and trash properly. You should place them in tightly sealed bags and place them inside trash cans. This way, they will not be exposed to different insects that can feed on them.
Trap them and move them away from your house
You can place traps all over your property to make sure that you capture any frogs that have already entered your property. Live traps are the best traps to use since they do not kill the frogs. Place bait in the traps to attract the frogs or other creatures that lurk in your yard. If you capture a frog, you need to dispose of them properly. And by disposing them, meaning you should contact animal control or you can relocate the frogs to another location where they wouldn’t reach another property.
Try getting creative when dealing with them
One of the best reasons why you should put fences around your house is to prevent the entry of different animals that could possibly reside in your house. Not only placing fences around your property repel animals, it will also repel humans from forcibly entering your property. If it can repel humans, it is sure to repel frogs. Make sure that the fence doesn’t have large enough spaces in it that will allow smaller animals to enter it. Fences that are made from metal is suggested, the ones that look like a net.
