How to Get Rid of Itchy Eyes
Itchy eyes can be very irritating and can bother you the whole day. Most of the time, we don’t find the courage of avoiding to scratch it—so it ends up to e more itchy and more irritated. The two major causes of itchy eyes are allergies and eye irritation. Allergies may pertain to certain allergens such as pollens, food, animal dander, cosmetics or any cleaning products. Irritations may fall under circumstances like dirty hands or handkerchief that you used to wipe your eyes, often usage of contact lenses and long periods of time in front of the television or computer screen.

Our eyes are naturally wet so it can actually shake off some of the dirt that tries to go inside. However, it is not capable of protecting itself from irritants all the time. So if you feel like your eyes are starting to itch, here are a few remedies.
- Wash it with cold water. First of all, washing your eyes will help you clean it and take some (if not all) of the irritant off. Now the cold water will relieve your eyes from the itchiness and possible pain.
- Cold compress. There are a lot of ways to do this. You can get ice and wrap it in a clean cloth and put it on your eyes. You can also chill 2 chamomile tea bags or 2 slices of cucumber and let it rest over your eyes.
- Eye patches. This is for you to avoid scratching your eyes especially at night while you are sleeping. This will lessen further irritation and protect from other irritants.
Wash the corners
Take a cold washcloth and wash the corners or your eyes. You’ll want to make sure that you avoid washing your eye directly. Be sure to use cold water and rub softly. By doing this, this is going to help remove any oils that can be causing your eyes to itch.
