How to Get Rid of Jaundice
Jaundice is the result of the increase levels of birilubin in the blood. Just to be clear, it is not a disease but rather a sign of a present disease. Jaundice is a clinical term when your skin and you sclera (the white part of your eyes) turns yellowish. Birilubin is the product when our red blood cells get destroyed. When this happens, haemoglobin is being removed leaving the birilubin behind. Now, the liver is responsible for disposing birilubin but once too much birilubin is present and your liver fails to do its task, jaundice will occur. Eventually, it leaves your skin to become yellowish or sometimes slightly brown.
Some medical diseases that can cause jaundice are liver diseases (hepatitis or cirrhosis), blood disorder, malaria, blockage of the bile ducts and so on. Since jaundice is just nothing but a symptom of the underlying disease, it is obvious that in order for you to get rid of the jaundice, you have to treat the disease first. However, there are some ways that you can help lessen the jaundice.
The antioxidant effect of tomatoes has been known to be an effective remedy for jaundice as well. Just prepare a glass of fresh tomato juice and add in a little salt and pepper to taste. Drink it once every morning. You can have a pre-prepared tomato juice or you can prepare it yourself for it to be really fresh. Continue this until you start to feel a relief and changes in your skin.
Radish leaves is also another home remedy in helping to lessen jaundice. All you have to do is to put a handful of mashed radish leaves in a piece of cotton cloth. Then try to squeeze it and extract as many juices as you can. The preferred amount is half a liter. This will bring about increase in appetite and proper bowel movement. For better results, continue to drink this for 8 to 10 days straight.
The juice that you get from bitter luffa is also a convenient remedy for jaundice. For the preparation, you have to gather a handful of mashed bitter luffa. Put it inside a clean cotton cloth and try to squeeze out as many juices as you can. After that, collect the juice in your palm and draw it up through your nostrils. This may result in some adverse effect like headache and fever,
Ginger, lime and mint
To prepare this mixture, take ½ teaspoon of ginger juice and mix in a teaspoon of lime and mint juice. For better results, take this mixture two times a day and you’ll see a change in your color.
Sugarcane and lemon juice
This is as simple as mixing a glass of the sugarcane juice and the juice of half a lemon. Drink this at least twice a day. Continue this until you can see changes on your skin.
