How To Get Rid Of Night Sweats

Do you find yourself with cold, sweat when you wake up in the morning? Are you one of those people claiming to have night sweats? Night sweats, or hyperhidrosis in medical term, is a condition of feeling extra warmth during sleep time, hence the sweat come morning. It is a common feat for men and women, particularly adults. While some may not really pay particular attention to the night sweats they encounter, it is actually not a very good thing having this condition. One of the reasons why you should treat night sweats is that it can cause you to become regularly dehydrated.

When you are dehydrated, your body system is being deprived of the nutrients it needs. Without the proper amount of fluid, the vitamins and minerals will not be able to flow in your organs. It is particularly unhealthy if this dehydration occurs during night because it is only when you sleep that your organs are able to regenerate. That is why it is a must for you to ensure that you are really getting the proper rest you need when you are hitting the sack. If you wake up with night sweats, then there is definitely something wrong with your body. Here are some tips you can do in order to get rid of night sweats.

Get enough regular sleep

When you do not take enough sleep, chances are your temperature will rise. Thus, when your next sleep time comes, you will feel extra hot because of your body heat. This may then cause you to have night sweats. So as much as possible, get enough sleep to avoid that increased temperature from lack of sleep.

Avoid caffeine

As mentioned above, it is important that you get enough regular sleep, and this clearly will not happen if you drink a lot of caffeine. When your body has a lot of caffeine, you will get the pumped feeling that will cause drowsiness to stay away from you. Moreover, caffeine adds up to body heat and can contribute to sweating, especially if it comes in the form of hot beverages like hot coffee. Caffeine itself is not really a very healthy substance so you must minimize your intake of it. If you cannot avoid caffeine intake, at least, do not consume any food with high caffeine contents five hours before you sleep.

Avoid spicy foods

Aside from caffeine, you must also avoid eating spicy foods right before you go to bed. This is because spicy foods can make you heat up and sweat. If you eat something spicy and slept right away, you will have a higher chance of waking up with grains of sweat al around your face and body. So if you want to eat something spicy, eat it at least about 3 hours before sleeping, or, you can drink up some milk before bed so that it can fight up that oil from spicy foods.

Check your sleep wear and sheets

Of course, it is a given that if you are having night sweats, you might as well forget about thick pajamas and bed sheet alike. If you are already feeling hot when you sleep, do not cover up under the sheets anymore. Also, opt to wear comfortable cotton garments when you sleep. It will not just make you feel less heated up, but cotton also is a good absorbent of sweat.

Check the room temperature

There are cases when night sweats are not really caused by internal factors in your body. Rather, it might just be caused by your environment. If you sleep in a room that is hot, then naturally, you would sweat out. Actually, it is more comfortable sleeping when it is colder, so turn on that electric fan or air conditioner when the room temperature is high.
