Cockroaches are pests…period. Humans do not benefit from these creatures and this is the reason why we need to exterminate them. Don’t think it will be easy, if you see one cockroach crawling around, expect thousands more back in their breeding ground. To help you get rid of this type of cockroaches, some of the things that you can do can be found below:

Purchase sticky traps

You can purchase sticky traps which can be bought from grocery stores. These sticky traps have adhesive pads that can capture anything that walks over it. You can expect to see a variety of insects that can be caught in these traps. These are even used to trap mice. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to put in place.

First, you need to identify the areas where you suspect the oriental cockroaches are hiding or breeding. This is the perfect place to put the traps in since cockroaches will be roaming around within the area. Also it is suggested that you put baits on the trap such as sweet treats that can attract the cockroaches.

Repair any pipes that are leaking

Remember that cockroaches breed on damp and dark areas and this is the reason why you should keep your house clean and dry. If you have leaking pipes under your sink, it will be a good idea to have it fixed immediately. Your sink cabinet is dark and damp and this is a perfect spot where cockroaches would hang around.

Use insecticides

The most common insect killer that you can find in the market are insecticides. You can spray this directly to the cockroach but do not expect instant killing action since the chemical is formulated to slowly poison the cockroach. However, this is still a better alternative to smacking the cockroach with anything that your hand is holding the moment you see them as doing this can spread bacteria.

Insecticides are also inexpensive and you can get them fairly easily but be sure to use them in accordance to the instructions included since they can cause respiratory problems if you inhale them accidentally.
