Bath time is one of the instances when a person can relax and thoroughly clean themselves to prepare for the day. Not only are they icky, but they are dangerous to your health. This is one of the things you want gone in your bathroom for you to enjoy a refreshing shower without a care in the world.

Shower molds are a common sight in many households, since they tend to be unnoticeable until certain time has passed. They are usually microscopic, but the humidity and dampness on the bathroom due to hot water and locked up moisture cause them to appear and grow until you can see them. Shower molds are a health hazard and should be gotten rid of as soon as you can. A person showering nears these molds, especially those with weak immune systems or sensitive to harsh chemicals, may experience health problems when exposed to them. Not to mention they will provide discomfort and unpleasant sight to those who see them. Fortunately, getting rid of shower old is quite easy. Just follow these simple instructions.

Create a baking soda paste

Baking soda, as you might already know, is one of the household products used for solving various home problems like unwanted odors, stains and even molds. Simply get a saucer and place some baking soda in it. Add some warm water and mix them together to create a paste.

Apply the baking soda paste

Of course, after you have made the baking soda paste, it is not time to apply it. Protect your hands with gloves first before working. Get an old spoon or spatula and use it to apply the baking soda paste to the molds around your shower room. Apply ample amount of the paste on the mold clumps and make sure that they are very well covered. This will ensure that the baking soda will work powerfully. Once you have applied the baking soda paste, let it just sit for a few minutes to kill the shower molds.

Scrub them up

After the baking soda has killed most of the molds, you can just scrape them up together with the molds and then follow up by scrubbing any remaining fungi on the shower. Simply get a scrub or a toothbrush and use it to remove the molds that have not been dislodged. Just keep on scrubbing until the molds are gone.

Wash with soapy water

Once you have scrubbed up the shower molds, it is still a good idea to wash your shower with soapy water to be guaranteed that no fungi have been left behind. Simply mix some water and detergent soap. You can also add bleach for a more powerful effect. Using a piece of cloth or sponge, wipe the shower and the shower area with the soapy water.

Rinse with water

To finish the removal of shower molds, you should rinse the area with water. Simply use your shower head for an easy rinsing of the shower and shower walls. Be sure to remove any soap residue. After rinsing, use a rug or towel to dry up your shower area so that no molds will sprout again.
