How To Get Rid Of Ticks

There are many pests that are scattered all around the globe. Each of them has their own treat to bring. But one specific pest that commonly stands out from the rest is a tick. Ticks are very tiny creatures that are widespread. You can get them almost anywhere. Your pet can also bring them into your home. Despite the size, ticks are notorious pests. They are blood-suckers, and since they are tiny, it is quite hard to notice them until you feel some blood-sucking pests biting you. One of the worst things about ticks is that they bring in a lot of diseases. In fact, they are second to mosquitoes when it comes to carrying the most diseases all around.

A single bite from a tick can start an infection in your body. That is why it is important to watch out for these pests. Once you see these little pests crawling around, you should immediately treat yourself and your whole household for ticks. They are harmful and you do not want them in your house. So in order to help you get rid of ticks, here are some things you can do.

Do a general cleaning

If you discover ticks in one area of your house, then you should start to clean up your whole house. You might not notice them, but ticks can be all over the place so you have to ensure that each and every corner of your house will be cleaned. You can ask for a friend or relative to help you clean up. Start with dusting and using the vacuum to suck of all those dirt and bacteria. Wash your clothes, house fabrics, rugs and carpets. Check up storage areas and throw away all inutile things. Remember to also clean your pet’s house and furniture as well. Although it may sound like a lot of hard work, it is really essential for you to make your house clean to get rid of ticks.

Clean your pet

After cleaning the house, you should pay attention to your pet. Pets are common target of ticks. Simply walking your dog around the park can make it be attacked by ticks. So it is also a must that you clean your pets. First look if there are ticks on its fur. If there is any, you need to use dog shampoo that can kill ticks. You can get these at local pet shops. Bathe your pet thoroughly and comb through its fur to remove dead ticks. If you do not have the time, you can have your pet be groomed for a price.

Remove the ticks from your skin

If you have been bitten by a tick, then you must remove it right away. Ticks will suck your blood and they will bury themselves into your skin. So if you see one feasting on your blood, you might notice that it is making its way to your pores. You cannot just shrug the tick off once it buries itself to your skin. What you can do is to use tweezers to remove it. First, heat a corner tip of a tweezers and use it to nudge on the tick. This will make the tick stop its work and make it easier to remove. Use the tweezers to pull the pest out of your skin.

After removing the tick form your skin, take a bath with clean water and anti-bacterial soap to rinse yourself from any bacteria or germs.
