How To Get Rid of Bleached Hair
People always want themselves to appear better. This is the reason why they often dress up for occasions, get skin treatments and have trips to the salon to make them more beautiful. One change that people make to their physical appearance is dyeing their hair. Hair color can make a lot of difference in a person. It can make her appear more beautiful or the other way around. Unfortunately for those people who want to go dark from blonde or any light color, they have to bleach their hair first.
Bleaching is probably the unhealthiest thing you can do to your hair. During the process, you strip off your hair with its natural oils and nutrients. Once you have bleached your hair, you cannot really revert the process. But if you are one of those who had their hair bleached and want to get rid of it, here are some steps you can follow.
Cut the bleached hair
If you did not bleach your entire hair and only used the treatment on the bottom part of your hair, the easiest way to get rid of bleached hair is to just snip it off. Go to your hairdresser and ask them to cut the bleached part of your hair.
Opt to dye your hair
If cutting your hair cannot be done and you cannot wait until your natural hair grows back, then dying your hair is the only effective way to go.
Condition your hair
If you have bleached your hair recently and realized you do not like it right after the treatment is done, then you cannot just dye your hair right away. This will just give your hair more damage and you might end up with lifeless hair for a long time. Before you dye your hair to get rid of bleached hair, you should condition it first. Deep conditioning must be done regularly until your hair can be strong enough for another treatment.
Purchase professional conditioning cream from the market. You can also get those hair spa treatments to deeply moisturize your hair and scalp. Apply the conditioner every time you take bath. Leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing your hair. You can also get deep conditioning treatments from the salon if you have extra money for it.
Select hair dye
When your hair has gotten back the nutrients it needs such as protein, then you can now dye your hair. Selecting the hair dye that you are going to use is very important. What you see in a product’s label may not be what you are really going to get. For example, if you bought light brown hair dye color, it might not appear as light as it should be with bleached hair. Bleached hair soaks up dye faster so it might turn out darker.
First, know your real hair color. Then, go to the beauty shop to get professional hair dye. Always opt to buy trusted brands. Compare your real hair color to the hair dye. Be sure that the hair dye is a few tones lighter. It is easier to darken up your hair than to lighten it.
Apply the hair dye
When you have all the products needed, you can now dye your hair. Simply read the directions on the box of the hair dye and follow it properly. Usually, you would just need to apply the hair dye directly to your hair strands and wait for about half an hour and then rinse your hair. After the hair dye treatment, you should continue with deep conditioning because hair dye also has chemicals that may be harmful to your hair and scalp.
