How To Get Rid Of Retained Water

Water is a very important part of the human body. In fact, almost 75% of the body consists of water. All those cells and tissues that make up the body system are composed of water. Water is probably one of the most essential elements that a human cannot live without. If you are thirsty, you need water. If you are sick, you need to drink lots of water. If you are unclean, you need to wash with water. Basically, the benefits of water are just never ending. However, there are also times when water can cause unwanted things and disorders like water retention.

Water retention is a physical problem when the cells, tissues and other parts of the body retain water which causes bloating. While retained water is not too serious when it is kept at minimum, when the level arises to more than the normal, many serious problems can arise from it such as edema, kidney diseases and even cardiac arrest. The water inside the body must continue to flow freely and distribute minerals from head to toe. However, when they accumulate the retained water may cause damages to your health. So if you are feeling bloated and your body is a bit swollen, and you are pretty sure that it is not really fats, then maybe, you have water retention issue. Here are some things that you can do to get rid of retained water in your body.

Do some exercise

Exercising speeds up the mechanism of the body. It keeps the body fluids circulating, preventing the water to accumulate inside your organs. If you are a couch potato, then you are more at risk of getting retained water inside your body. So if you want this to go away, then you should start doing some exercise.

Exercising does not mean working out in the gym. Simple exercise that can heat up your body and make your cells work is enough. When you wake up in the morning, do some stretching. It is best if you can do some jogging or speed walking. This will regulate your blood and fluid circulation so no water will build up in your cells and tissues.

Eat lots of healthy foods

Having a balanced diet is one of the basics to achieve a healthy body. One of the reasons why the water in your body might not be flowing too well is because of lack of nutrients. Eating lots of healthy foods can make up to that.  Increasing your fiber intake can also be helpful as fiber helps flush out the toxins inside the body. Eat more fruits and vegetables every day. This will improve your digestion and even lessen retained water in your body.

Avoid eating unhealthy foods

If you really want to remove the water retention of your body, you should not just eat healthy foods, but you should avoid eating unhealthy foods as well. Junk foods can cause malnutrition which may slow down your body mechanisms. This will in turn promote water retention of your body. Aside from junk foods, decrease your sodium intake all in all because salty foods may cause water to build up inside your body.

Intake multivitamins

Multivitamins improve your overall well being. It supplies for the nutrients that your body lacks. Moreover, taking multivitamins can even reduce your weight because it lessens body fat, and retained water as well. Vitamin B in particular can regulate the water level inside your body. You can go to your doctor and ask for a safe vitamin for you to take.
