Apply vinegar

Let the vinegar sit on the cloth for a couple of minutes. If you see that the stain has become lighter, wash it with water and treat the area again with vinegar until all the stain has come off.

Rub some lemon

Lemon works the same with vinegar. You can just cut a lemon into two and rub the inner part to the sharpie stained area. This will break down the stain and make it appear lighter. Keep on rubbing with the lemon until the stain has been removed. Note that lemon should only be used with light colored fabrics as it may cause some white streaks if you use it with dark colored fabrics.

Scrub with baking soda

Baking soda is another very effective remedy for different types of stains. You can just sprinkle ample amount of the baking soda on the stain. Using an old toothbrush, scrub the stained area so that the baking soda will be absorbed by the cloth fibers. Once you see that the stains have loosened up, rinse it with water.

Use commercial stain remover

There are commercial stain remover products that you can get. These products work great in removing much kind of stains. So if you are dealing with a tough sharpie stain, you can use commercial stain remover. Simply follow the direction which you can find on the product’s label to know how you can use the stain remover.

Launder as usual

After you have treated the sharpie stain with vinegar, baking soda or stain remover, you can continue to launder it as usual so you can completely remove the sharpie stain. Afterwards, hang the clothes outside to dry. It is better to let it dry under the heat of the sun so that your cloth will become bleached naturally.
