How To Get Rid Of Tension Headaches

Relax, take a nap

Tension headache is brought about by stress, so if you get rid of the stress that you are feeling, then the tension headache will go away with it. If the tension headache kicks in, it is better that you stop what you are doing; tell your boss you need to rest or get permission from the teacher so you can visit the clinic or go home. Once you are in a comfortable zone, like your bedroom, just lie down and try to relax. Take a nap, or sleep if you want to. This is a good way to break the stress and the tension headache.

Get a massage

Usually, massaging the head and temples can help relieve the tension headache. Simply point your fingers on your temple and try to gently rub it in circular motions. Massaging the head usually works but it is best to have a full-body massage if you can. Full body massage does not just relax your head but your overall body, so you can feel less tension or stress.

Breathing exercises

Breathing exercises lets you meditate and have a clearer mind. If you are being bothered by worries and problems, go out to a clean place where there are lots of trees. Sit down with your legs crossed, close your eyes then slowly breathe in and breathe out. Repeat this for even just 5 minutes and that tension that you are feeling, together with the headache, will leave your body.

Take medications

There are oral analgesics that you can consume if you think you can fight off the headache without getting some rest. If you have lots of tasks to do and you cannot take a break, you can get oral medications like paracetamol, ibuprofen or aspirin.
